PCI Security Standards Council Strengthens Payment Card Data Security By Adding Additional Payment Devices To Existing Standards
The new PCI UPT (Unattended Payment Terminal) requirement has been approved by PCI Security Council.
The PCI Council has worked on this requirement over the last two years, and expands the PCI requirements on dispensers to include Encrypting PIN Pads, Secure Card Readers (mag stripe), and Secure Screen Prompting.
Unlike the PCI EPP regulation, the PCI UPT only applies to new dispenser deployment and does not affect current dispensers installed in the field. No dates have been set for this requirement to apply in the field, so please stay tuned to our blog site for notification on these new dates.
